Happiest of Birthdays

Lisa created this adorable birthday card using the A Fair Day collection. It has a fun mix of different text. She did this by using tickets from the perforated paper in combination with a stamp cut into a circle shape.

The ice cream cones she made by layering stickers with spacers add dimension. Very fitting for a birthday!

Details like staples, folded ribbon, buttons, stitching, and rhinestones are "icing on the cake". They make the card complete.

Club SEI's August kit is extra special because it is the 5 year anniversary! To celebrate, the kit includes an entire 12 x 12 box kit from the Fresh Cut collection. Box kits include embellishments, pre-cut papers, an album, a keepsake box, and instructions to make the finished album. The kit also includes a special gift assortment pack of papers & die-cuts. Click here to see the entire contents.

Click here to find out more about the August club kit. If you aren't a club member, you can still sign-up and receive it.

Today we are sharing an alternate project club members can create with some of the kit contents and add-ons. We love the flower layering on the front of this little notebook. The scallop edge is a nice detail. The kit is full of scalloped edges and other beautiful details.

Happy 3rd Thursday!

Ready 2 Ride + GIVEAWAY!

Thanks for joining us on our Fair Week! We hope we helped you get some good ideas for summer projects. Before we sign off for the weekend, we have couple more projects to share...

Julie's Ready to Ride layout shows off some of A Fair Day's best features. The die-cut elements have fun iconography. She paired them perfectly with the tickets from the perforated paper and the playful font from the sticker sheet.

Some of our favorite things about this layout are the happy color combination, adorable title, and layering. Thanks Julie and all of our design team members for helping make this week fun and memorable!

One final idea for you is this summer mini album. We simply took a preservation album, added some mixed sticker fonts and a few elements from the A Fair Day collection. If you would like more A Fair Day project ideas, check out our gallery here. There are tons of great party ideas like these...

GIVEAWAY - So, which A Fair Day project idea is your favorite? Answer this question and you could win some A Fair Day product. Your favorite project can be anything from this week, from the gallery, or something you dreamed up yourself. Leave a comment on this post by Sunday, July 17th at 11:59 pm MST and we will announce the winner Monday.

Birthday Parties

Who would have guessed the A Fair Day collection would work so well for birthday parties? Audrey shows us how it's done on her My Wish for You layout.

She did a wonderful job of using the A Fair Day elements in unexpected ways. Notice how she cut the scalloped paper and layered it?

Instead of writing her journaling on the tag with lines, she put her title there. It's ok to ignore those lines, really. See?

Audrey also cut some of the balloons off their strings and used real string to tie them together in a bouquet. Perfect for a birthday!

We made a little banner out of the popcorn holders that come with the A Fair Day club kit. Just a few snips with scissors and voila! It would work great for a birthday party or any celebration. We love using things in unexpected ways!

Cards and Party Invites

Summer is a great time for PARTIES! Here are some creative cards and party invites for your next celebration.

Think of clever sayings to go with your invitation graphics. The fun graphics from the A Fair Day collection can work for several occasions. For the first invite, we used the pretzel icon and the saying "tying the knot" for a bridal shower.

For the other invite, we stacked strips of paper with party information to create a tiered cake. Then we tied a bow at the top and added a mini folded banner for our "title".

Lisa creates amazing cards! She contributed this sweet card to our fair week. The lollipops work great in combination with the candy stick paper. We love how she used the A Fair Day graphics for her BIG birthday wishes.

Remember, there are still two more days of our week long A Fair Day summer celebration. So, check back again. We will have a giveaway at the end of the week!

Everyday Scrapbook Layouts

Ever have a hard time thinking of other ways to use themed collections, like A Fair Day? Sometimes it is tricky. So, we thought we'd show you two layouts that are good examples of using a themed collection for everyday layouts.

First, this family layout uses some of the "non-themed" papers. The colors and style of the photographs are what ties it in so nicely with the A Fair Day collection.

How about using the papers in a non-traditional way, like making flowers? That's what we did on this Grow layout to make the fair themed line work for this little girl.

Go ahead. We dare you to use A Fair Day for something other than fair photos. Are you up for the challenge?

A Fair WEEK!

This week we have a special treat for you. We, along with some of our design team members, put together a creative collection of ideas to use this summer. All of the projects feature the A Fair Day paper line. We hope you will enjoy and be inspired!

First, this layout is the perfect way to kick off the week. It screams A Fair Day with its happy colors and fun patterns.

This treat holder was designed as an alternate project for Club SEI members. There are so many great uses for this... have a movie night, hold treats for party guests, or create your own carnival.

Don't forget to stop in again tomorrow because it's going to be a fair WEEK!

A Day at the Park

Wow! We have been so busy getting ready for CHA and preparing for a special blog week. It has been a while since we posted anything new. Lucky for us we have an wonderful design team that keeps designing awesome projects!

Today we would like to share a project designed by Audrey. She took the themed A Fair Day collection and used it for a day at the park layout. The colors are so yummy and the combination of elements from different collections is supreme. We love the handmade touches like the painted background and doodling.

Here's what Audrey said about this beauty. "I took some of the elements from the paper with the 'fair' phrases on them and used them for a page about the park. I painted a white square on the background, and then doodled a black frame around it with a thin pen. On some of the phrases, I also outlined the letters with a pen to make them stick out more. I used a few die cuts from 'A Sunny Day' and 'Corinne'.

We hope this layout will get you excited for next week. We have a special A Fair Day week planned with loads of ideas for summer projects.

How Sweet It Is -- July Challenge

Julie's sketch for July has so many possibilities! We look forward to seeing what you create from her inspiration. You can show us by linking it to our link party at the end of the month.

Remember, if you did the sketch challenge last month you still have until tomorrow at 11:59 pm MST to link it up. You can also link other SEI projects.

This layout is what inspired Julie's sketch. By choosing some of the papers that are less themed, it is easy to see how A Fair Day paper collection can be used for all kinds of layouts. We love to see themed collections used to scrapbook everyday moments!

Happy Independence Day!
