Dora's DIY Necklace + Giveaway

Hi I'm Dora and I'm one of the newest additions to the Art Room. Today I'm sharing this cute DIY project I just finished.

I just love unique jewelry and the best part about this one is that the charm is made out of paper! You might be skeptical of using paper for a charm but the trick is layering the paper to make it stiff and durable.

If you want to make your own all you need is a cutting machine, mod podge, a sponge brush, beautiful paper, and a necklace chain. If you want to make the same chevron charm as I did you can download it here for a .eps file or here for a .svg file.

Use your cutting machine to cut out the chevrons. Depending on how many you cut out and mod podge together determines the thickness of your charm. For mine I used about 9 pieces and applied a thin layer of mod podge between each layer and on the sides. Then let it dry and ta-da it's pretty much done! All you have to do now is put it on a chain. You can also use a jump ring to attach the charm to a chain to help it lay more flat.

Leave a comment to enter the giveaway for a club SEI June kit. For up to 4 extra entries, leave a comment each day this week.
