DIY Crown + Giveaway [CLOSED]

For my daughter's 3rd birthday a few months ago, I made her a "number 3" crown....and it was a HUGE hit! She wears it all the time! I thought I'd make her another crown so she could mix it up a bit--a girl's got to have options!

You'll need:
your favorite paper /cardstock
decorative brads
lace doilies ( I cut them up and add them to everything:)
glitter (of course!)
glue and scissors

Cut your paper on a diagonal to make a crown shape (it takes two diagonal lengths glued together to fit your child's head.)

Once you have your basic crown, start to decorate! I chose to make flowers out of paper fans. Cut two long strips of paper and fold back and forth like a fan. Glue ends together, and the come around to form a circle. Glue. I always secure the backside with a small piece of paper so it's easier to attach.

I made a stem by taking two thin strips of paper--hold them at a 90° angle and fold one over the top of the other, back and forth until it's done.

Attach your flowers, add a little glitter, and VWALLA! You have a crown!!

And one happy little girl!

  40. that's tough! this post is awfully cute! Hard to compete with a little girl in a crown. LOL

The "little things" (?) post spoke to me the most though and I actually sketched out and idea for a LO about the things that remind me of summer growing up. the bed, the clapboard siding, the eggs, the snap peas. all take me back to being a kid.

  41. The Crown and Birthday girl were both simply amazingly SWEET!

My favorite post for this past week would have to be LITTLE THINGS!

Often times all of us take "little things" for granted and we all need to open up our eyes, stand back and just breath...watch...be happy & thankful for each and everything we do have.

So that has to be voted my favorite blog post this week! For myself, the photography tips will be used over and over. :-)
