I'm getting ready to decorate my daughter's room and I want to use a lot of color so I made this fun monogram. I used paper from the Vanilla Sunshine and Desert Springs paper packs. I love the texture and color of this paper!
In addition to the paper, I used a piece of plywood that I salvaged from the 51 cent bin at Home Depot. It's seriously the best kept secret! I frequently ask them to cut wood down to the size I want- they're always willing to help. Besides the wood, I also used Mod Podge, glue, and a paper cutter.
I cut several small rectangles out of the paper (2"x1"). I watered down the glue a little bit so I could paint it on. Then I laid down the paper strips and kept painting glue on as I went. I also put paper on the side of the wood as well. Then I waited for it to dry and painted a few coats of Mod Podge to seal the deal. I cut out the "i" with a jig saw and painted it grey. After a little bit of wood glue, it was done!
It's going to bring a little life into my daughter's room.
