Hello again! One of my favorite things about living in New England is fall. The foliage is beautiful and its apple picking time.
My husband's first request is apple crisp. So, I thought I would share our favorite recipe.
Apple Crisp
filling
6-8 apples, we like cortlands
1 tbsp orange juice
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
Peel, core, and slice apples. Combine apples with orange juice, sugar and spices arrange in casserole dish.
topping
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1 stick butter, softened
Mix all of the topping ingredients (hands are best) until the mixture is crumbly. Spread on top of apples and bake for 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees F. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
Enjoy,
Jules
