This is just a cute little card that made for my niece's 8th Birthday. She LOVES cats and when I saw "The Cat's Meow" sentiment on my Mayberry Sticker Sheet I knew it was perfect for the occasion.
• I chose this sweet pink and green polka dot patterned paper for my card's base--one of the more feminine papers included in the Mayberry Collection and then chose a few more coordinating stickers to layer together to create my focal block in the center of my card.
• Then I used half of this over-sized frame from the Cardboard Accent Sheet to frame my sentiments and to create an unexpected design feature on my page.
• I filled the second compartment created by the frame with a mint green paper also from the Mayberry Collection and a number 8 from my corrugate cardboard alpha.
• Then to finish things off I butted one of the banner stickers from the Cardboard Accent Sheet up against my cardboard frame and accented it with a star-shaped brad from the Mayberry Sundries Pack.
Even though this card is simple and sweet, I think that by piecing together the cardboard elements to create my own unique design feature really adds to it appeal.
Next time you're going through your stash, try challenging yourself to use some of your supplies in a new or unexpected way in your page or project--you'd be surprised where it might lead!
