I have been having fun filling my Noteworthy Album from SEI here lately...not really worrying about any particular order or theme but just having fun with it! The pocket pages are perfect for little note cards, photos, journaling spots, etc.
For this front and back spread I shared an afternoon that we as a family decided it was the perfect day to go and try to fly a kite. Totally random but fun! I'm so glad we did it!
Using a couple sheets from the Noteworthy 4 x 6 Journaling paper pad was perfect to fill up some of my pockets! I added some stickers and embellishments throughout to just add a little something extra. Simple and easy for those days that you want to get something crafty in AND done!
When I saw that SEI had sent me the Hoo's Sweet Chipboard Owl kit I knew that it was going to be one of the first projects that I created this month! First of all, I adore anything and everything owls and second of all, I knew it would be something perfect to go in my daughter's bedroom!
I created the owl pretty much by assembling it as pictured in the project kit, however I changed things up a bit and added patterned paper to the body of the owl, some strips as well and then inked the edges of some of the chipboard pieces. I also added some buttons to the eyes along with some bakers twine. It's so adorable! Love, love, love how he turned out!
It's no secret, I love the Hoo's Sweet collection from SEI...I just can't get enough of it! It features owls in the majority of the collection but it also has a bit of floral mixed in which is nice. I used some scraps from a previous project and created this sweet little card using some of the stickers and patterned papers from the collection.
I think it's a cheerful greeting that anyone would enjoy getting in the mail don't you? I love keeping a stash of handmade cards on hand so that I'm ready if I need to send one out. This one will be perfect for just that.
I don't know about you all but summer is seriously kicking my butt! There is a small part of me (I admit) that is secretly looking forward to the routine that the start of the school year brings. That doesn't mean that I'm not taking advantage of and enjoying every little moment of summer though...it's just busy!!
For this layout I had to grab some supplies and create it on the "go" since we've been traveling and busy with summer plans, etc. I challenged myself a bit and did some free-hand title work, doodling and some paper shape cutting with those freehand circles. I did do some machine stitching once at home though as you can see by taking a closer look.
At first I didn't care for this layout...it just didn't feel like my normal way of scrapping...and really, it wasn't. But it's grown on me and I'm happy with it. The photo is an oldie of my daughter and I remember that particular day she wasn't dressed for the beach (she was in shorts and a tee-shirt, but no suit) but here we were, at the beach and I just let her go in and get all soaking wet anyways. So fun... and fitting with her "free spirit" ways. Love her so!
Sometimes you just have to let go and have some fun...even when crafting!!!
I love it when you can just whip up a simple card for a friend on the fly! Using scraps from previous SEI creations I was able to do just that with this simple "Hello" card here.
I used my sticker sheet from the Catalina collection that's filled with floral elements and used 6 flowers from the sheet. I used some of the Catalina collection's Sweet Calico patterned paper and some scraps from the Hooray! birthday collection and I added some of the rub-on/tape dispensed sentiments and was done!
For this layout I used the Noteworthy Pre-Cut Layout kit. But instead of using the suggested layout ideas, I opted to change things up a bit and created my own layout using the papers and die-cuts avaiable in the kit. In addition to the kit I added one of SEI's little doilies too, I love those so much!!
Since this was a single photo layout I wanted to make sure my page didn't end up looking too bare, so I printed my journaling using my computer and printer and then cut it into strips to add a bit more interest to the page. The three dimensional stickers really added to the layout too and they have a bit of sparkle too which is fun.
Sometimes it's nice to capture random memories on the page even if it's just a moment captured in a single photo!
This layout I actually used the Trendy Noteworthy Pre-Cut layout kit and challenged myself to come up with a new idea using the papers and some of the pre-cut elements from the kit.
In addition to the kit I also used some of the Metallic Basics Silver Alphabet stickers from SEI and the fun Decorative Tape patterned tape runner in the "Hello" theme. It was perfect for adding just a bit of interest to my layout.
For one of my photos I added some three dimensional adhesive stickers to adhere to my layout just to make that one photo stand out a bit from the rest. I love the subtle and summery colors of the Noteworthy kit's papers...they were perfect for my photos!
I had lots of fun creating this layout. I decided on using a grid-like design since I had four square photos (I am loving printing out my Instagram photos!) and matted the pictures using patterned papers beneath and then also above and below my photos for added interest.
Everything used on this layout from the patterned papers to the embellishments is from the Summer Woods collection from SEI. My new absolute FAVORITE collection from them! I could create using this collection every time I sit down lately!! So versatile and perfect for my summer photos since we live in the Northwoods!
Summer is off to a great start here and I can't wait to scrap more of our memories along the way here and share with you. What is on your summer list of plans?
I
LOVE the big circle die-cuts from the Summer Woods collection...I had to use some on a layout and found them perfect for this simple layout design featuring just one (Instagram sized) picture. I mixed up paper collections just a bit here on this layout using some patterned papers from the Summer Woods collection and then also some from the Catalina collection. The corregated cardboard circle die-cut added a bit to the pineapple button when layered I thought.
I loved this picture of my daughter and I so wanted to keep the layout itself pretty clean and simple. I've also noticed that I tend to create simple layouts when life is busy and with the end of the school year and summer upon us, things have definitely taken up a different pace! We may be busy but I am determined to still have some time to be creative!
The second week of May was Teacher Appreciation Week and this year my daughter's teacher has been exceptional (we have been so lucky with her teachers every year!)...I had to create a little something fun for her to show our appreciation for all the hard work she does each and every day. I was stumped for a bit on what I would do, but ended up falling back on this little gift assortment that I've actually done before, but it's so fun and clever too, I had to try it again using SEI papers! These treats paired with a gift certificate for DVD rentals was just the thing!
4 pack of root beer - "I'm SODA-lighted to have had you for my teacher this year!"
Microwave Popcorn - "Thanks for making my brain POP with ideas all year long!"
Chocolate Candies - "Having you for my teacher this year has been a pretty SWEET deal!"
I used my die-cutting machine to create the Thank You card using papers from SEI's Pembroke and Spring Picnic Collection and the papers that I used for the clever little blurbs on the treats were from the Spring Picnic Collection as well. I threw in some fun paper straws with the soda and I was set! Sometimes simple is just the ticket!
I love May for so many reasons...one of them being that Mother's Day is at the beginning of the month...and that I finally get to start seeing flowers bloom in the yard, (hooray!). Combining those two favorites in my crafting this month, I ended up with some sweet and simple little cards for Mom, (complete with including some sweet little blooms of course!).
The woodgrain paper that I used as the backdrop for both cards is a favorite of mine. It's the Whitewash paper from SEI's Catalina collection. The matted sentiments for both cards are from the Family Gathering Die-Cut sheet from SEI's Spring Picnic collection and then I added in some little bits like the flowers and buttons, stickers and more from the embellishment sets from various collections. I love it when I can mix and match and it looks good!!
Have you seen the cute little paper birdhouses around the web? I have, and knew that I wanted to try my hand at making one.
I used my Silhouette Cameo die-cutting machine for the cuts and papers from SEI's Catalina and Hooray! Collection. It turned out so very cute!! It will be a perfect little decoration for my daughter's dolls I think. It would also make simple and cute spring decor for any room in the house. So fun!
