Sticks & Leaves Fall Layout

Hello! Today I have a layout to share with you. I love fall colours and the Mirelle Collection has the perfect colour combination for a fall page. I pulled out the pictures I wanted to work with and picked out the paper that I wanted to use.

I chose to use strong fall colours but kept the patterned papers to tone-on-tone for the most part. I did this because the photos of our kids are busy, with a lot going on visually. This way the photos don't get lost and the paper isn't overwhelming. The metallic highlights on the Mirelle collection are a nice touch to add depth without adding too much pattern. You'll notice the layers I added to the page are also tone-on-tone. I use a die to cut out the leaves and layer them onto the page. I will often cut little pieces of 3D foam dot to help keep the dimension in some of the embellishments I create.

The pictures of our kids in this page are not ideal- they are very real ;) I want to share that we often only have one weekend in the fall when the leaves are dry and fun to jump in. These are the pictures from that one weekend. The rest of the time, they are a soggy mess and I comment on that in my journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Sarah

That is very pretty. I like the way you did the journaling, it's so creative. Love the paper and all the fall colors.
