Happy Summer! Beach time and camping are the themes for us every summer. With these adventures, come great treasure hunts and collections. One of the ways we contain the collections is by providing a small container for these treasures. I created a couple of treasure bags for one of our camping trips.
First, a little boy version. I used the turquoise and white velvet sheets and thin metal dies. I machine stitched the stars onto a little cloth bag (the bag is a little larger than a deck of cards). I pulled out the buttons from a variety of different sundries packages and hand stitched them onto to stars. I decided that I needed to include a little glitter ribbon to add a little pizzaz to the baggie.
The next treasure bag I created was a little girl version. I pulled out the sheet of pink and white polka dot iron on material. Again, I used the thin metal die and ran it through my embossing machine a couple of times. The starts were ironed on and the paper remomved. I then machine stitched gold ribbon around the top. I overlapped the ribbon at the back and stitched through the overlap, but left a small 2 inch section unstitched at the left corner. I threaded a second piece of the ribbon through and tied a ribbon. I pulled out the flower shaped buttons from the Primrose sundries package and hand stitched them to the baggie.
