DIY Spring Easter Bunny Photo Props

It's Easter weekend! Are you excited for egg hunts and family fun? We are! Don't forget to take pictures.

It's so fun to use photo props. So, we decided to make some Easter Bunny props. We cut bunny ears and noses out of our velvet paper. We love how soft and fuzzy they are!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Spring Confetti

Decorating for spring is so fun! We love busting out those cheerful colors.

We wanted to use a chocolate bunny for our centerpiece. But, it looked lonely. So, we added a paper doily and some Easter grass. For more color, we punched flowers out of our velvet paper to use as confetti.

You could even cut strips of velvet paper to make your own grass.

Velvet confetti is so easy to make! We love how it brightens up our centerpiece.

Spring Card and Easter Papercraft Ideas

Many of you know we have a kit club. These surprise kits are a great bargain! The card kits include 2 limited edition card kits with supplies to make 8 cards each. So, for just $20 and free shipping, you can make 16 cards!

Would you like a peek at the last Club SEI card kit we sent out? This is one of the cards club members could make with last month's kit. We love how perfect it is for SPRING!

Speaking of spring, it's Easter weekend! We have really enjoyed looking back on some of our favorite Easter project and wanted to share a few with you today.

First up, this paper Easter basket by Davinie Fiero is so simple and adorable, we have made it over and over again. We have used it for tiny party favor baskets and bigger ones for kids to gather eggs in. If you are looking for a last minute basket and have some scrapbook paper and brads, go for it!

Second, we love this idea by Stephanie Kensy of decorating eggs without dye. She wrapped her eggs with paper bands and decorate the bands with bunnies, flowers, etc. It's such an easy idea. But, her's are just so pretty!

Last, this is from the How to Nest for Less blog. There are so many great Easter printable there. So, we are leaving you with this for your Easter weekend and our wishes for a happy holiday, however you celebrate SPRINGTIME!

Easter Egg Decorating Craft

Hi there! Easter is on its way, and before you pick up the same-old Paas coloring kit, you might consider another kit to decorate your eggs this year: the Club SEI March card making kit.

One of the things I love about the Club SEI kits is that they come with a full collection of supplies that can be used countless types of paper crafts. You're not limited to the type of project that is the focus of the kit. The March Neon Vibes collection has bright colors, bunnies and blooming flowers ... perfect for spring and Easter crafts.

I made these Easter egg decorations using the oh-so-cute die-cuts, stickers and Build a Butterfly pack included in the kit. The decorations are attached to paper wraps, so you can make the decorations ahead of time and then set up your display on Easter.

Simply slide the hard-boiled egg into the paper wrap when you are ready to put them out on your table. I trimmed the yellow cardstock in the kit to 3/4 in. by 6 in. to make a wrap that fits a standard-sized large egg. Mini "baskets" of cupcake wrappers and Easter grass complete the display.

How will you be decorating your Easter eggs this year? What creative, non-card-making projects have you made using your Club SEI card making kits? We would love to see your projects! Share a link in the comments below.

Easter Goodie Bag & Decor

Easter is less than a week away! Lucky for you Jennifer is here to save the day! She has some adorable Easter project ideas that are perfect for anyone who is a little behind this year.

"I love making handmade Easter treats for my nieces and nephews. While jellybeans aren't my personal favorite, they sure do make a fun, colorful treat! I used papers from the Desert Springs collection for my bunny."

"I'm terribly behind in decorating for Spring and Easter, but luckily I was able to put something together very easily with the Vanilla Sunshine collection. The patterns and colors included are perfect for this time of year. I used blue and green washi tape to create my eggs. I simply taped down the washi onto a piece of scrap paper and cut out my "eggs" using an oval die. And I love the different font choices included in the Vanilla Sunshine glitter stickers. I love to mix and match my fonts!"

Do you still have any projects to get done before next weekend?

Easter Basket

Audrey's project for today is over-the-top amazing! She used so many different materials and techniques for this decorative Easter basket. So, we thought we would let her explain it in her own words.

"I was originally going to make my own basket design, but there are so many great tutorials out there, so why reinvent the wheel? I used a tutorial from this blog to make this basket, which I altered just a bit. I used some of the beautiful White Elegance papers for the basket and I added only one handle and a ribbon around the top edge. The butterflies are from the spring breeze accessory pack."

"For the 'grass' I used some tissue paper which I cut into thin strips, and then misted with some green 'tumble dye' which works just like a spray ink. I let this dry overnight."

"The eggs are paper mache and I purchased them from my local Hobby Lobby. I painted them with a few coats of white paint. My initial intent was to cover them with strips of paper, which I attemped. But SEI papers are so high quality that you would have to use paper thin papers to cover the shape of the egg. So instead, I misted my eggs with some light pastel colors, and then punched some shapes from the purple and green papers of the Couture collection. I used a few coats of Mod Podge to make the punched shapes lie flat on the eggs. On the last coat, I added some glitter to give them a bit of sparkle. Once dry, I added some pearl gems from the accessory pack."

"Lastly, I made my little sign by pleating some papers and using some circle punches. Some tiny rub-ons letters for my sentiment went in the middle, and I attached all to a wooden skewer that I painted white!"

The Best Easter Present Ever!

Spring played a trick on us this week. We had a blizzard yesterday and received about 12"-14" of snow! But before it snowed I was able to see our little tulip bulbs shyly emerging from the ground. So that must mean that spring is here, and with spring comes Easter- the most innocent and beautiful holiday. Eggs galore: boiling, painting & egg hunts. Easter baskets, filled with simple goodies. Baby animals, new plants! It's a celebration of life and it's a wonderful time to celebrate children. Introducing our Paper Doll!

A few years ago we had a paper doll that I had made for a CHA show. It was when we introduced Chick-a-dee. We found it here a few weeks ago and thought what a cute Easter present it would make. So I took the time to trace it and make templates of the outfits that she has available. She comes in her skivvies so you're able to dress her up as much as you want. I printed her outfits onto Ana's Bananas & Tiny Bubbles papers. You can make 9 different outfits with just 3 sheets of paper. The tabs on the clothes have a strip that is made to attach the 2 shoulder tabs with tape. Click here to print an 8.5 x 11" sheet of clothing.

The fun thing with this doll is that you can personalize her by adding the photo of the recipient. I'm actually half Salvadoran so for me I wanted to diversify some skin tones. So there's three options to choose from. My coloring is between the #2 & #3 skin tone. I know they're pretty broad but look at the image below and you can choose from #1, #2 or #3. (<--- Just click these numbers).
I needed to give my doll a home and so I found a tin box and just lined it with chick-a-dee paper. Inside I used the chick-a-dee scalloped ribbon. With some craft wiring I made little hangers for the clothes and hung them off of the ribbon.

I will say that it's not as flattering with adults pictures. I was going to post my paper doll but I looked about 60 lbs heavier, haha. But try this as a project to do with the kids at home or while you're babysitting. It's so much fun picking out the different papers and feeling a little like a fashion designer. No one has ever emailed me pictures of their completed projects, but if you do, I'll post them online.

If you have any questions, please post them and I'll help you in anyway I can. Hope you love this as much as I do!

Love,
Dorthea
