Valentine's Crafts

Valentine's crafts can be so much fun! These are a few of our favorites over the years...

1. Valentine's banner - We have a lot of fun banners on our blog. But, these vintage Valentine's are so sweet!

2. Little Gift Box - I love simple gifts in pretty packages!

3. Valentine's Cards - This is the perfect time to send some love.

4. Scrapbook Layouts - This kit is so pretty for weddings too.

5. Gift Tags - Once again, it's that extra mile to make a gift special.

6. Tie Dye Shirt - It is surprisingly easy to make a heart-shaped tie dye shirt.

We hope you have fun with your Valentine's crafts!

How to Make a Tie Dye Heart Shirt

Valentine's Day is coming up! One thing we love about Valentine's Day is dressing up. What could be more fun that a tie dye heart shirt?

We realized we've never made one on the blog. So, we thought we should show you how it's done. First, gather your supplies. You'll need tie dye (we used the girly 3-pack), a white t-shirt, a heart template, a marker, and elastics.

First, fold the shirt in half down the center and trace the heart onto the shirt. We used a marker the same color as the dye we wanted to use. But, you could also use a water-soluble fabric marker.

Next, start on one end of the heart and gather the fabric so the heart outline is lined up into a straight line.

Once you have the heart in a straight line, tie it off with an elastic. After tying it off, we decided to wet our shirt. You can choose to do it wet or dry. If you do it dry, there will be less color bleeding.

Then, you can tie the rest of the shirt into as many sections as you'd like. We decided to create 4 more sections. Spray the end section with the dye color you want your heart to be.

Dye the remaining sections how ever you'd like. We alternated between purple and turquoise. Make sure to spray some dye into some of the creases for best coverage.

When you're finished, carefully cut the elastics off and lay the shirt to dry. After it's completely dry, make sure to heat set the design by ironing thoroughly to make it permanent.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Simple Guy Valentine Gift DIY

Does anyone else struggle to figure out what to give guys for Valentine's Day? We do! So, we came up with a simple idea if you guy happens to like fishing.

Stop at the store and pick out some floats, baits, or lures your guy would like. Also grab some treats to go with the theme. Our favorite is Swedish fish.

The way to make it "Valentinesy" is all about the packaging. Put it in a simple plastic bag and decorate it with your favorite SEI scrapbook supplies.

We found a vintage Valentine with a cute saying and added some of our favorite paper and embellishments, including velvet paper, ribbons, die-cuts, and gems. That's it! You can apply this to different hobbies and interests too.

Cute Valentine Treat DIY Craft

Valentine's Day and velvet paper go hand-in-hand. We just couldn't resist creating a few more velvet projects. First, make any shape of confetti with a simple hole punch. Hearts are the perfect touch for any Valentine gift.

The second project is our cute little velvet bear. Velvet paper has the perfect fuzzy fur texture!

We used our Silhouette to cut the pieces out of brown velvet paper, put the bear together, then accented it with googly eyes and a little pearl or gem for the nose.

Our bears are going to deliver some gummy bears to our friends. So, we put gummy bears in a little bag with our free heart printable and wrapped his hands around the bag.

Isn't he cute? Be sure to check out all the great velvet paper colors we have here & use our free printables below!

Cute Valentine Cookie Bag

Maybe you have a friend that would like to know you are thinking of her. Even adults enjoy a special Valentine treat! So, we came up with a cute little cookie bag that works great for kids and adults.

These are really simple to make! Slip a little folded piece of paper inside a plastic bag with a yummy cookie. Then, fold a little piece of velvet paper around the top.

Accent the bag however you'd like. We just used a little flag, gem, sentiment, and ribbon.

It's hard to capture on camera. But, the velvet paper adds a really lush texture. Order some this week and see for yourself. Our Valentine and winter velvet papers are on sale for at least 50% off!

Valentine's Day Turquoise & Red Heart Gift Bag

Hi there! Stephanie here, sharing a quick and easy project featuring the Hoo's Sweet collection. This collection is super fun and very versatile. The colors and playful design elements translate well for everyday projects or holidays. This Valentine's Day gift bag features the perforated "forever" and "love you" sentiment cards.

I used a plain turquoise gift bag from Target as my base, proof that your Valentine's Day projects don't have to be all red and pink. I love how the turquoise really pops against the shades of red.

A few punched-out hearts and a little bit of red glitter paper -- borrowed from my December SEI Scrapbooking Kit -- finish this festive and mod gift bag. Now all that's missing is the chocolate inside.

What are you making for Valentine's Day? Will you use this collection or another SEI favorite? We'd love to hear from you, so feel free to leave a comment!

Happy crafting,
Stephanie

Handmade Valentine Cards

Greetings and welcome to the blog today! It's Rhonda here to share a few Valentine themed cards with you.

My first card "Thinking of You" is created from pieces from the Merry Mistletoe Card Kit as well as the Spring Picnic collection.

I used the base from the card kit, as well as the gold glitter and heart borders on top. I mixed up a variety of elements from the Sundries packs and finished the card with some sweet pearls that were also included in the Merry Mistletoe Card Kit.

SEI Products Used:
Merry Mistletoe Card Kit
Spring Picnic - Picnic Basket Paper
Basics Die Cut Accents

For my next card "I Love You", I used the Spring Picnic collection primarily. I cut some very bright and happy colors for my layers to coordinate with the sentiment which is from the Family Gathering Perforated Sheet.

The button, floral sequin, button and banner die cut are all from the Sundries packs. They always add the perfect finishing touch to your project!

SEI Products Used:
Family Gathering - Perforated Sheet
