Fall Shirt DIY Autumn Leaves and Pumpkin Please

Fall is coming right up! We love the sights, smells, and sounds of fall. How about you?

When we saw this adorable shirt saying, we knew we had to make a shirt with our cute iron-ons.

For this project we decided to mix two font styles, type and honey.

First, cut out the letters you want to use.

Arrange your letters to decide how you want them placed.

Place each letter individually and iron into place. We used a piece of paper as a tool to help us line the bottom of the letters up straight.

Peel off the film after ironing each letter on.

That's it! What do you think? Would you make a shirt with this saying or something else?

Happy fall, y'all!

Fall Centerpiece with DIY Velvet Paper Flowers

September is here! We are starting to think about decorating for fall. One of our favorite fall craft supplies is velvet paper. We have used it for fall leaves, masks, cards and more.

Today we are sharing a floral centerpiece we made using velvet paper. There are many colors to choose from. So, we chose colors that go with our fall decor this time.

We love making paper flowers. But, velvet paper adds a more lush and realistic texture.

To make your own floral centerpiece, you will need velvet paper, floral wire, and a hot glue gun.

You can make your own flower shapes or use some of the many free ones available online. We used this template for the honey colored spiral flowers, this one for the simple little rust colored flowers & large ivory flower, and this one for some of the leaves.

Attach the flowers to floral wires and wrap the wires in strips of velvet paper. Then you can bend the flower stems to arrange the flowers however you want.

We hope this gives you some ideas for decorating and you will try incorporating velvet paper into your decor this fall.

Pretty and Easy Gift Bag

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are thankful for you!

Earlier this month, we made these adorable gift bags for fall and thought the idea would be perfect for winter or Christmas as well.

We just used a simple brown paper bag, tied it up with string and leaf shapes cut out of lush velvet paper. For winter, try cutting out berries or snowflakes using your cutting machine or die-cut. For christmas, how about some holly shapes instead?

Now, what to put in that adorable gift bag? Don't worry! We have lot's of ideas coming soon!

Fall Treat Gift Bags

Today we are sharing one of our favorite go-to fall treats! It's the perfect sweet and salty combination of sunflower seeds and pumpkin candies. There are so many cute ways to package it!

You can put it in a clear bag, tie it closed with jute and add a simple tag, like we did above.

You can put it in a handmade basket. These are so adorable and easy to make with scrapbook paper! Follow our directions here.

The last idea is to put a bag topper on it, accented with stickers. We hope you like this idea and can use it for your Thanksgiving tablescape or give it to someone who needs a little "thank you" gift.

DIY Velvet Fall Leaves for Crafting

Fall is on the way! One of our favorite things to use for fall crafting and decorations is velvet leaves. They have such an amazing texture!

They are really simple to make. We cut these out of velvet paper using our Sizzix. But, you could do the same with any type of cutting machine or even a pair of scissors.

These leaves are so handy for fall crafting. Make a bunch and sew them together for a garland or wreath. Add them as card or scrapbook accents.

There are so many great ideas! What would you do with these lovelies?

DIY Velvet Aspen Tree Card

Happy Monday! We have a super cool card to share today using DIY aspen trees. You are going to love how we made these!

First off, did you know we sell velvet paper? It's exactly what it sounds like, a rich, plush velvety paper. It adds such an amazing texture. We especially love it for fall and winter crafting.

To make your own aspen trees, you will need to start with a sheet of our coconut velvet paper, charcoal tumble dye, and a little paint brush.

Use scissors to cut strips of velvet paper the size you want for trunks and branches. They should be a little uneven and taper slightly.

Shake the Tumble Dye, take the lid off, and paint some fine horizontal lines on your velvet paper, to resemble Aspen bark. The dye will bleed slightly to create the natural bark look.

Then, just put them on your project and add a few leaves. Cool, huh? It's a lot of fun too. Plus, we have some fall velvet paper bundles on sale this week for just $5 each!

More fall crafting ideas coming tomorrow!

DIY Fall Envelope Album

We have some really great fall items on sale this week. So, we are sharing ideas of how to use them on the blog.

Today we are featuring our envelope album kit. It is 30% off and you get a free tag book when you purchase it now through Thursday.

There are instructions on how to put everything together. But, it's always fun to add your own flair. We focused ours on fall hikes. You can do whatever you want, Thanksgiving, family photos, etc.

The pockets the envelopes make are great for storing extra photos, or in our case, pretty leaves and memorabilia.

It's easy to add a few extra embellishments from your stash. We added alphabet stickers and sundries.

The kit comes with pre-cut papers, rub-ons, ribbon, chiplets, metal rings, eyelets, and kraft envelopes.

What is your favorite part about this fall envelope book?

Don't forget, the sale ends next Thursday. So, hurry over to our website to get your envelope kit.

DIY Butterfly Canvas Decor

While you may associate butterflies with spring, the (aptly named) Perfection collection from SEI proves that these lovelies can make a year-round appearance in your craft projects. I'm obsessed with anything and everything gold foil, so the die-cut butterflies in this collection with gold accents made me swoon as soon as I laid eyes on them!

The butterflies are so beautifully delicate, and I thought they could make for an impactful focal point all on their own. I decided to make a 3-D art/home decor canvas for placing on a shelf or mantle. I arranged a variety of the die-cuts in a grid, then used large glue dots in the center for attaching them to the canvas. (I was slightly concerned about the adhesive sticking to the canvas material, but these glue dots were actually very strong.) I swapped out the last butterfly for a little sentiment sticker combo from my stash. Then I "fluffed" out the wings so these little butterflies look like they're ready for takeoff.

How have you played with the butterflies in this collection? Have you made any home decor projects with your SEI kits? As always, we'd love to see, so be sure to share in the comments!

Happy crafting,
Stephanie
